Failed Exams

My husband, 32, has recently been put back into the "school system" due to an injury. He is attending college and has now failed his 2nd test. I don't know what to do to help him. We both have ADHD. I'm retaining more because I'm writing most of his notes due to his injured arm. I just signed him up for a tutor at the college but don't know if they will be qualified.

Any helpful tips, software, advice, anything out there?

So exhausted from stress and anxiety, his stress and anxiety...ugh just want to bawl my eyes out!

Record the lessons!

School is hard for anyone let alone someone with ADHD. You should think about buying a cheap voice recorder and having him record all the lectures. Or if he makes friends with someone in the class that may be willing to let him photo copy the notes. It may also help if he talks to his teacher about his ADHD. Depending on the teacher they might be willing to give him notes and maybe some other kind of extra help... Lastly when he gets frustrated and exhausted from trying study and do home work, let him know that is ok to take a mental break ever few minutes if he needs to. I have never been able to focus on one thing more than 5 minutes at a time unless I'm very interested. If he has to take a one minute mental breaks every five minutes that could be helpful. Don't fight his ADHD, work around it! Good luck!

video lectures? type notes?

ben said pretty much everything I was gonna say! Also if he is cappable of typing then mabye he can type his notes like while he is listening to the recording, since there is a pause and rewind, he can pause it and then jot down what he needs to and then continue listening. though for me I would use a video camera since I need the visual teacher there in front of me too and what with technology teachers are using more and more power points so recording their voices might not capture everything needed. Having him type the notes will help with retaining things since writing is not an opption.
