Hi, I'm new to this but the school social worker gave me this site. I have a 13 year old son in 7th grade. School has always been a struggle of course but this year he is flat out flunking. The Vyvance has been increased to the max. His father also passed away in August and he had a rough start to the school year. The school has been less than helpful and I am calling a PPT meeting to ask for a 504 status (Plan to help my son at school). I was wondering if anyone has done this and what specifically did you put in the plan (Or request from teh school) for the school to follow that actually made a difference? Unfortunately, I am a single mom and have a 5 year old with Aspergers (high funtioning autism) also. Therefor, I want to make as much of a difference in School during the day as possible as it's difficult for him to concentrate at home in the evening if at all! He constantly forgets homework at school so I can't control his getting it done. Thank you :)
