Getting adjusted to dexedrine
I was recently perscribed to take 1 - 10mg rx dextroamphetamine/day. For the first couple of days it was great, I didn't notice to many problems. After about four days the effects eased off and it still gave me a feeling of concentration without the good feelings, so I decided it was good enough. After a couple more days the effects of the meds started wearing off early in the day leaving me feeling agitated and moody. I went to the doc to discuss these problems and his solution was a 6 month perscription of 15mg dex/day. I'm not one who likes sweaking my own meds without doctor permission, but I feel that it just doesn't last long enough!
Should I change my dosing to every couple days, only when important things are going on, such as high work loads in school, presentations, etc, to prevent building a tolerance to fast, or is it safe to take a daily amount? Another question... I heard that taking dex with magnesium can make it's effects more pronounced and longer lasting, does anyone have experiences with this?
I've just been reasently diagnosed even though I was sure I had it for a long time, so I'm new to all of this, so any advice helps. Thanks!
