Help! How or Where

I have a 12 yr old son with ADHD, and multiple Learning Disabilities including visual memory issues, reading issues, etc. He is on IEP and in a "community based" program. This program spends more time preparing kids for menial job s and handling all the kids that don't fit elsewhere, than educating him to the level he should be pushing toward. Essentially he is in a Special Ed program. My son is smart but learning is slow. He truly needs more individual attention. He has no homework yet is getting almost straight A's with his accomodations. Seems to me we should be increasing his IEP expectatations. He is obviously capable of more and his Dr agrees.

We have considered Home Schooling but with ODD issues mostly seen at home, his Dr feels that is not a good plan. Does anyone know of any schools in the Dayton Ohio area or resources to help him achieve to his highest degree?

We have considered one of us quitting our job and working with him full time, but he truly needs the socialization Thanks for helping and all recommendations. Time is slipping by!

Thanks!

ADHD School

There is a school not sure if it's secondary it's called New City School and it is for ADHD & ADD only. As far as public school they do not want to deal with the children who have these very real issues with the way their brain works. I don't know if anyone have mentioned a program or system called IEP. This is to fix your childs schedule that will benefit the child has well as provide any and all extra help that your child may need.
