Ugggg..

Our 7 1/2 yr daughter has ADHD...we have tried every medicine...and have had no luck..either the medicine is to strong 10mg or the 5mg is not enough....this totally stinks...she is very smart and has no issues in school learning wise..she just hyperactive, impulsive, talks alot... we are having her retested since her other was when she was 5. Has anyone tried mixing 2 meds??

Ask you doctor

Mixing medication types or mixing medication with dietary supplements might help but you do need to make sure you talk to your doctor first to make sure you do it safely.

Also, you might want to try mixing the amount of the dosage through out the day. For example, take the 5 mg with a high protein breakfast and the 10 mg in the afternoon or vice versa. That might work better for your daughter.

If your daughter is having mostly behavior problems but not many school problems, you might want to try just behavior training for a while. The thing that causes ADD kids the most problems is that we don't pick up certain skills naturally, we have to have someone sit down and train us how to do it. Medication is usually most effective when it's combined with behavior modification training.
