First wellbutrin, add Vitamin D in rx amounts, and now strattera has been added

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD, and comorbid depression/anxiety. My doctor decided to first try Wellbutrin since it could potentially tackle depression AND ADD, but in the past 4 weeks, it's only managed to alleviate depression symptoms. About a 10 days later, my doctor discovered that I have vitamin D deficiency, and prescribed me rx level Vitamin D. I went in to follow up on meds, and because the ADHD symptoms are still there, and the anxiety hasn't worsened but still exists, I have now been prescribed strattera. I'm nervous about taking strattera and wellbutrin together but the doctor is very knowledgeable and is the first competent doc I've been with in my adulthood. He is thorough and informative. I trust him. But, it doesn't take the fear of mixing meds away from my thought process. Anyone else have this combination? Want to share your experience. I understand we all react differently to drugs, and that no two people will experience the same effects, but a little reassurance sure would be helpful. Thanks.

Well Strattera and Wellbutrin

A lot of adhders are on combinations of meds. Remember, there is a high degree of "comorbidity" with adhd, a fancy way of saying adhders have high rates of depression and anxiety. All of these conditions need to be treated. For some, the depression may come out of the adhd. But that is not necessarily the case. It's also likely that the brains of adhders are particurlarly vulnerable to other ailments.

A pharmacist can be a good source. Talk to your pharmacist about your concerns. Usually they can find interactions and if there are any problems with drugs interacting ... just remember antidepressants and stimulants often work in different ways ... There a lot of people on wellbutrin and zoloft, because they come at the brain via different pathways ... so you're not necessarily overdosing ....Talk to a pharmacist. That's my best advice ...And if you are still unsatisfied, get a second opinion from a different doctor.
