ADHD and Applying for PsyD programs. Are there any practioners with ADHD?

Hi. I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and after gaining my MS in Counseling. I had myself tested after receiving feedback in my graduate program and then later having trouble in the workplace.

I really like psychology and I really like working with people. As you can imagine, its the paperwork and the workplace structure that are challenging to me. I'm anticipating my dissertation will be a challenge, but I managed my thesis.

I guess I am not confident about my decision. I am looking to see if I have some peers or mentors in this field.

Thanks,

Serenity

Here

However, I STRONGLY recommend that you choose a field of practice not dealing with ADHD. I am a firm believer that 80-90% of people in mental health are doing it to deal with their issues, not the clients. I firmly believe that this is a problem.

If you issue with going back to school, or with the career?

I blogged my story, and I have commentary on this type of stuff. http://askdreric-schoolpsychologist.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-adhd-story-part-1-self-disclosure.html
