Hi, just thought I'd introduce myself. My son is 7, 8 in November and has been displaying characteristics of ADHD and ODD since he was 2 1/2. He has been taking Ritalin for nearly 2 years now. At first he started on short acting Ritalin, then changed to Ritalin LA this year. We tried Concerta recently for about 2 weeks but he was absolutely feral on it, so now he is back on the LA. Have tried diets in the past, restricting additives, colorings etc (following Sue Dengates book) and also using Fish Oil and his behaviour was fantastic. But once he got to 4 year old Kinder the peer pressure set in and kids told him his food was 'crap' so he basically refused to eat unless he had what others had. ATM his behaviour is terrible, he lies, steals, smashes his toys to bits, annoys his brother, doesnt do what hes told....to name a few. I have done so many behaviour modification strategies/reward charts, etc etc etc. I'm going crazy here as I also have a 3 year old who isnt showing any signs of ADHD or ODD but likes to copy what his 'funny' big brother does! AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is all I can say. Please help!
