New school year, another nightmare-Math

Oi vey....you know that dreaded pit in the bottom of your stomach, here it comes. My ADD inattentive 13 year old granddaughter has just entered 7th grade with an IEP concentrating mainly in Math. The Math teacher she had previously in 6th grade Inclusion classes left alot to be desired. I was in contact with him, contact with the ESE Specialist needless to say his class was the least structured and she was constantly up and down up and down in grades. Sadly at the IEP meet, he spent all of about 5 minutes and his input on how he could help her was "0" and jumped out of the meeting saying he had to get back to class. I could kick myself now for not insisting on MORE help. She finished with a C+, that's ok with me but it was fought tooth and nail all year, every single school day. There is "supposed" to be someone that comes into Math class to help her, can we say I highly doubt it since she's said she's been mostly on her own.

Fast forward to schedule pick up for 7th grade. Oh JOY guess what???? They've assigned her the same teacher for another l-o-n-g school year of nothing but heartaches for her and stomach spasms and nightmares for both of us! I'll be honest, when I saw the schedule sleep has not come easy. And once again it's picked up right where we left off except now it's almost straight F's. I've signed her up for SES tutoring and have yet to hear anything but have my fingers crossed. One improvement is at least she's doing 99% of the Math homework herself but as usual when she remembers or puts it in her planner. Last year it was tears, tears, tears and we didn't get much accomplished. At least I was able to get some assistance on homework from both the Math and World History teachers with alternating problems/questions.

We're just about two weeks in and I'd like to nip the Math problem in the bud before it blooms into a jungle of biting lions and tigers. How to go about getting a remedy is what I'm not sure about. Contact the ESE Specialist who's job it is to make sure the IEP is followed or another course of action? She has all A's in 3 other classes that are reporting online. My heart and head is telling us to pull her out of this teacher's class before she falls too far behind. Her psychologist last year had to contact the teacher and ask if he was knowledgeable about ADD, he replied "yes" and she asked then why do you have her sitting in the back of the class? Next day she was up front again.

Has anyone gone through this? Suggestions? Thanks!
