Yoga, diet, excercise, suppliments, work you love! :)

I've been doing yoga over the last month & it's really helped with my focus/energy/happiness. One of the teachers also has ADD & is continually reducing the meds. with her doctor because of her improved focus through yoga. Also the asian guy who developed it (Brain+Body) had ADD. He mixed yoga, martial arts, & brain exercises to help himself with ADD. And in my last class there was a girl that suffered from alcoholic & cocaine addiction & she says it's really helping her process old wrong hurtful thoughts that shes replacing with the truth about herself.

Another thing is get a Dietitian who specializes with ADD. Good diet & some supplements when needed are also a nice help.

And regular throughout the day exercise helps me out big time. My attention span is around 10min. so I do sit-ups, push-ups, supermans, & yoga for a minute after each of those 10 minutes. This helps big time!

Also the greats of classical music is another huge help for me.

And lastly, which flat out trumps everything above, is doing something your passionate about, that incorporates your strengths & personality! :)

Sobriety and meds

LisaMarie. I too am in recovery, 24-years sober before I found someone that was in a position to evaluate and listen objectively. It was through a study for ADHD where I found people who didn't see me as a relapse waiting to happen,so I'd try there first, but more importantly make sure your sobriety can handle the med again. Are you going to aftercare, AA meetings, there are 12-step meetings for dual diagnosis people. if you can show that you are sobriety first and not just med seeking I think it helps. Unfortunately Ohio isn't my part of the world good luck DJS
