Adderall XR for 10 years

I've been on Adderall XR at 60mg for almost the past 10 years since I turned 16 back in 2001, and supposedly I heard that after you turn 18 or so, your doctor usually tries to reduce that med (Is this true?). But because of having to switch from one doctor to another (long crazy story) I never got a chance to reduce it until recently. My fourth and current psychiatrist is helping me to get off of Adderall XR by reducing it by 5mg a month to make the withdrawals more tolerable and by next week I'm supposed to drop my daily dose to 45mg.

Anyone else here ever have to get off of Adderall and had to deal with the withdrawal symptoms? How did you manage and what did you have to deal with? Cos after taking 55mg for the month of June and then down to 50mg in July I'm suddenly feeling really really tired this past week and kind of worried if whether or not I'll be able to handle all the mood changes and depression once I start on the 45mg. I have Bipolar as well so that makes things even more "interesting".
