I don't see it helping....
I see two problems with this affecting anything...
#1 - Protections do not kick in retroactively. If you look at the University's Policy manual, I can almost guarantee without reading it that it contains the following: "You must be registered with Disability Services Office to receive accommodations or services... You must contact Professor in advanced of your service plan... You must be able to perform the expectations of the class...."
#2 - Grading decisions are solely the grounds of the Professor. The only opportunity to appeal a grade is if the Professor violated a major rule (and you can prove it) like Sexual Harassment.
Now, if the professor's are willing to wheel and deal... They may.
However, in the school's that I teach, there is some serious scrutiny when you change any grade other than an Incomplete. The longer it has been, the more scrutiny the change gets...
