Parent of 30 year old adult with ADD

Was diagnosed at age 23 with ADD. Son living with us for last year finishing MAT. Done now...but what a struggle. Papers, food and clothes everywhere. Relationship strained. How do you relate when you can see they don't do details? Doesn't seem to take initiative to do job search. Is now educated but has not held job to support himself yet. Takes medication for ADD...but only when he thinks he needs to focus. What to do? If we put pressure on him he shuts down...too much anexity. Help?
