documentaries/videos explaining our disorder
I was diagnosed with primarily inattentive ADHD about 13 years ago. I'm in college now, and recieving accommodations, but I've come to realize that none of my professors are familiar with ADHD. When I tell them I have it, they say they've heard of the disorder, but don't know anything about it except that it makes kids hyper. They all want to understand what it is and how it works, but the truth is, I don't really know much about it myself. I know that our brains don't make enough dopamine, and that some areas are smaller/thinner/less dense (?) than those of normal brains, but that's the extent of my knowledge. I don't understand exactly how these abnormalities produce our symptoms. I've been looking for a documentary or video clip which provides a CG animation of how our brains work, but so far I've only found that clip which shows a (lack of) dopamine jumping the gap in a neuron. I would prefer an online video so that I can forward the link to my professors, but its not essential. Any suggestions? Please and thank you! :)
