Fish Oil Dosage for Adults

Hello,

I had a few questions and I'm hoping someone here might have some answers.

What is the recommended total daily dosage? How many times a day or does it depend on the strength of the capsules? From what I have read a high EPA fish oil provides the best results for ADHD. What I don't understand is why does ratio matter? Some products have as much EPA in them as a high EPA ratio product and cost less. 500 MG of EPA and 100 MG DHA per serving costs more than 520 MG of EPA and 350 MG of DHA

Thanks for any info! Tom

No consensus on this

Great question. The problem is that I've spent a lot of time investigating fish oil and adhd and I don't think there is any consensus recommendation for the right dosage.

I've seen studies where children were taken like 7 grams of fish oil a day. That's like 20 times or so the doses you list ... But I would never go that high without explicit guidance from a smart doctor I trusted.

I've seen some people say somewhere around a gram a day of epa and dha combined.

But this is all off label, not proven by tests that have been replicated. So there is no consensus on this as far as I can tell.

Fish Oil

New to the scene. I was contemplating using fish oil for my trygliceride levels. I did not know there was a connection with ADHD. Can fish oil help you loose weight as well by lowering your triglicerides. I will be purchasing soon. What is a safe level to take. Should I follow the recommendations on the bottle or consult Doctor. I have other illnesses - Bi-Polar, Axiety disorder. Since taking all of my meds. I have gain approximately 50 lbs. What are some evenues besides diet and exercise to help loose weight, or change meds.
