I need help studying! Every time I try to i get irritated and start to cry. HELP?

I'm talking 2 summer classes where i only have class once a week and the whole semester is 8 weeks long ( half way through now)

I have tried studying but I don't understand anything. I don't even know what questions to ask my instructor to help me.

every time i try and study I get frustrated, irritated and my eye beg tear up ( i try hold back the tears so i don't cry at college)

I Have ADD so it hard to get myself to study but when I do i get those feels then i don't do well in class and the feeds into those feeling not to study.

I want to finish college but this is holding me back

What can I do?

what are some study tips or advice in general.

STUDY IN PAST I have read my book I had read all 3 chapters fora previous test

and it did help with me not crying while taking the test because i thought i knew the answers it did NOT help with the grade of the test.

I got a F

I try to take note but if i do it after reading a chapter or part i don't know what to write. i don't know what i learned. i can read but explaining it is hard.

I could read the chapter many times and not learn a thing. ( note the repeating would get on my nerves repetition and the not getting it would cause the irritating feeling)

THESE CLASSES are computer classes. so i have to learn programing lingo, psudocode( Sue-dow code), memorize term as well as how to set up( from a word problem) a psudocode and read one

Make sure you register with Disabled Student Services or whatever equivalent office. Use the resources that they have available.

Second - Really work on developing the skill of breaking big projects into smaller components.

It is easy to get overwhelmed when you look at the path that leads to the top of the mountain. However, a few small steps one-after-another really add up. Nothing is more reinforcing that success ... no matter how small.

Studying

My experience has been that I get very overwhelmed when I look at everything I need to do and end up not doing anything at all. This also comes from a fear of failure as a child. This also leads to procrastination. What I have learned is that if I break down what needs to be done, take one part at a time and do it in 15 or 30 mins. intervals, I end up completing it and also feel a sense of accomplishment. Some of the things that you do not understand, try to write each down on a peice of paper and look at them, one at a time. Try to understand them individually on your own and if this still does not work, take this list to the professor and ask for help.

Keep moving foward.

I understand there are times that you're angry that you have ADD, but you can't allow your frustrations to cloud your judgement. Have you ever been evaluated for a learning disability? If not, schedule one as soon as possible. Chances are, you may also have a learning disability that's interfering with you ability to study. Hey, don't be angry if you are diagnosed with one. I have both ADD and a learning disability. Believe me when I tell you, it does make things more challenging. The best advice I can give you is find out and get the necessary assistance at your school. Good luck!
