You're working with the wrong people
We went through a parade of professionals before an objective and comprehensive neuropsychiatric evaluation showed us what all before should have seen as clearly as the nose on our face. We also learned that our boys' reading, math and comprehension are several years beyond their current grade and both have IQ's above 140. Imagine how dumbfounded we were after enduring the struggle required to keep up and finding them better then the rest.
About ten odd years ago a few passionate doctors found that club foot can be corrected early in life through physical therapy. The traditional surgical solution leaves you with a permanent limp and lifelong difficulty. The father of one of those early successful children was at a social function where a doubting physician demanded to see the child who was running laps around their picnic table. When his father noted this, the physician abruptly denied that the kid ever had club foot. Breakthroughs are littered with similar stories and He wasn't the first and won't be the last physician to change the facts to suit his solution.
Years ago a couple doctors down under reported that a bacteria causes ulcers. The medical community scoffed at the idea and dismissed their findings since common knowledge dictates that nothing can live in the stomach, until they cured a couple hundred people with basic antibiotics and antacids. Now 90% fewer people have ulcers and Tagamet sales are in the toilet.
We mail our psychiatrist (MD) completed insurance forms with a polite letter requesting 90 day prescriptions with self addressed stamped envelopes per our program that he configured for us. Once a year or so he asks us to stop by to discuss how things are going, check on specifics and make any needed adjustments. He freely admits that not only is he ADD, he also has an auditory processing difficulty. We relate well and everyone's happy.
IMHO and if I were you, I'd search for someone who embraces your needs, recognizes the reality of ADD and understands that doctors serve patients. Good luck and happy hunting.
