Tantrums

Hello there, I am new to this site, and was wondering if anyone out there was dealing with tantrums? My 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with ADHD. We have been dealing with tantrums from her from an early age, and although certain things have improved with her, the tantrums and uncontrollable emotions have been an on going issue. It seems to be even the littlest thing can set her off and once she starts there is no stopping it. As much as this is difficult on us we can see (and have been told by her) that it is just as difficult on her, she would like to be able to control it but can't. We have tried a number of stratigies and was just looking for any other ideas out there. Thanks Kris

Is she on any medication. One of my sons was like that when he was younger. It seemed to get better once we found the right medication, and once he got a little older.

Thank you for your reply, No she is not on any medication, I am not sure if we are going to put her on medication or not.....we are currently weighing our options as far as how we will proceed from this point, we have been back to the Doc. and we have decided to see how things go over the summer, the tantrums are not so much an issue at school as they are at home, We are awaiting to start a program in Sept about meltdowns and then I think we will try to ,make an informed decision from there...any helpful ideas or advice are always welcomed.
