ADD Versus RDD

Hi Everyone. ASI am new to this Site and am so glad I came across it.... I do hope someone can help me in the right directio II would be obliged if anyone can enlighten me as to if there have heard of R.D.D. (Retention Deficit Disorder) I believe I strongly suffer from this. I am quite good at retaining and remembering things I learn practically, even if I have not used these skills for years, they generally come back to me without any problem whatsoever. When it comes to Retention of Theory or sitting Theory Exams, I get so frustrated and upset that my mind goes blank and I wonder what happens my Brain and where my Retention disappears to at this point?

I would really be more than grateful if anyone could throw some enlightenment on this for me. As I am a Mature Student and am hoping to go and repeat my Theory Exam. I.e. Diploma in Teaching I.T. (Application) I seem to have lost my confidence, and it is putting me off, as I will have to re-sit for a Theory Exam I had an accident two years ago and ended up in a Coma for several days and a wheelchair bound, for ten months and since, then I have doubted my Ability and Self Confidence. I am quite good when it comes to Multi-choice Questions, my brain kicks in no problem and I know some people find this a real draw back in an exam as it confuses them more, but thankfully for I find it suits me.

Unfortunately there are no Multi-choice Questions in this particular exam. The Assignment and Projects relating to this particular Diploma, I will not have a problem with doing. Mairead

I never heard of RRD :but the head injury may be the problem

Many people after head injury find they have difficulty remembering certain things especially if certain areas of the brain are involved . It takes time but eventually certain other areas pick up the deficit for the area damaged in the accident. So much is not completely known about the brain. think about it how much harder is remebering from before and after the accident. coupled with add/adhd and it can be very diificult I am an audiotory learner so I need the info to be explained clearly and more important accurately because if it wrong that how I will remember it. It may to be to your advantage TO LET THE SCHOOL KNOW ABOUT YOUR HEAD INJURY AND ASK THEM HOW YOU CAN PREPARE for the exam. Try hard not to psyche your self out, GOOD LUCK
