I don't have any anwers because I am having the same problems with my 9th grader. I adopted my niece after her mother (my sister) died four years ago so i don't have the full history other parents do. She has fairly severe ADHD, plus learning disabilities. She started high school off well but has been in a spiral for the last several weeks. She's angry most of the time, started smoking a few months ago and has decided that attending classes is optional. She lies about most everything (not just the forgetful kind common with ADHD) and I can't get her to eat regular meals. If it were up to her, she'd do nothing but watch videos on YouTube and post to Facebook. I'm limiting her Internet access at home now in an effort to get her to develop other interests.

She's under the care of both a psychicatrist (for meds) and a therapist but she engages as minimally as possible. I'm really at my wits' end and am also wondering if I should get let go and hope she'll straighten herself out.
