Has anyone here tried meditation? Does anyone have any advice?

So, my smart little personal trainer wife gave me the idea of trying meditation. Partly because I'm studying for the bar and under a lot of stress, and, partly because she hoped it would help my ADHD symptoms and help me give my mind an occasional 10 minute break. It worked. I have only read some simple stuff on the web and experimented (how to sit and breathe and so forth). But even just the simple stuff I tried definitely helped me to relax, turn the switch off and just exist.

My first question, has anyone tried meditation and what were your results? Second, I want to do more but I don't trust most online websites that sell the books and DVDs. Can anyone recommend a good guide or video? Possibly ADHD centered techniques, but just a good program to do would be great.

Meditation is great

I was diagnosed with ADHD 16 years ago. Before that I knew something was wrong with me, but I didn't know what. I've been meditating for over 40 years and it has always helped me. It hasn't always been easy, with the constant loss of focus and my mind going in all directions. When your mind wanders, don't let it worry you. It's a natural part of the process. Just gently bring your focus back to your breathing, or whatever you are using in your meditation. It will get easier as time goes on, but remember, it doesn't have to be perfect. It will be exactly what you need at the time even though every time is a little different. Keep it up every day and you will come to learn how valuable it is.
