Need to find lawyer sensitive to Adult ADHD issues
I've got myself into a bit of a serious jam. I moved to Indiana for a job back in July. When I did so, I lost my health insurance (I was previously at school, trying to get a doctorate) and so I haven't had my medication for awhile and have just been trying to 'soldier on'. A few months ago I was pulled over because I completely missed renewing my plates and found out that my license was suspended because I received a speeding ticket in Indiana about 2 years ago that I thought I had paid but was never received. I have been trying to get that resolved but in the meantime have HAD to continue driving, as I have noone else here for help and cannot quit my job. As you can guess, I got pulled over again and when I went to court and tried to ask for help resolving this situation the judge instructed me that I need a lawyer. I am really hoping that I can find a lawyer who may be sensitive to ADHD issues, as i believe that they are pertinent and am still afraid that without someone who truly understands the impact of adult ADHD the judge will not believe that this is a legitimate factor. Anyone have some advice on how I may find someone like this in my area (outside of calling and explaining my situation at random)? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
