Vyvanse and disappointed with MD

Hello, My son age 12 has been diagnosed with inattentive ADHD by his pediatrician. (My husband also has inattentive ADHD). My son's pediatrician started him on Vyvanse 20 mg and because of side effects; insomnia and decreased appetite he stayed on 20 mg about 3-4 weeks, then we increased to 30 mg. On 30 mg Vyvanse my son noticed improved concentration at school and we noticed that he was getting right to his homework. Gradually we started to notice that our son seemed angry and moody (at the time I was not sure if it was just pre-teen hormones). Then one day he came home from school and my ordinarily very gentle son became extremely angry when I asked him to do something he did not want to do, he started flipping over chairs and throwing things and yelling, this behavior very uncharacteristic of him. This is what upsets me most; I called the pediatrician and reported what was happening and asked if it could be the Vyvanse. The Pedi told me that this behavior was not caused by the Vyvanse because my son had been on it for 6-7 weeks and this is new behavior. He then told me that my son must be on drugs and that I should take him to the hospital or call the police!!! I know that my son was not on drugs! I felt that the doctor was blowing me off. I called the company that makes Vyvanse (Shire) and reported the symptoms. I took my son off the medication and he is back to normal. I am so upset with the pediatrician, first because I feel that if he is prescribing these type of medications he should be aware of possible side effects which should have been his first thought for the cause of my son's behavior, not that he was on drugs. The pedi wanted me to keep him on the Vyvanse, can you imagine what might have happened if I listened. Since he stopped the Vyvanse my son is back to his old self, pleasant inattentive personality and relaxed. Now I am not sure what to do because my son and I would like for him to be on medication so that he can focus but I do not feel comfortable with his pediatrician. Do I change to another pediatrician in the same practice even though that may be uncomfortable? Do I move to a new practice? Should I stay with this Pediatrician and just go to a psychiatrist for my son's ADHD medication management? It is hard to change pediatrician's right now because I need physical forms for 7th grade and some school activities that are coming up. Another thing, a few times the pediatrician has made comments that makes me feel like he thinks that just because my son has ADHD he also has behavior problems, which he really does not have. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
