support group
Yes, it can be done if you are willing to put some time into it. If you look on the adda.org website, they publish some guidedlines for aDD support groups.
You need first to find a location. Churches, community rooms, are often available for free. You can publicize through bulletin boards, sending flyers to ADD specialist offices, using cable access TV free advertising. Then you have to be very patient. It takes a while (maybe a year) before you will really be up and running. ADDers may think about coming without acting on it for a long time (no surprise). Then they mean to show up, but forget!
Whoever is in charge needs to have strong group leadership skills. All you need is one ADD long-winded person who can't shut up (for lack of a better word) to ruin the group. Other people, while understanding of this particular ADD symptom, will not return if they feel that the group leader can't control the monopolizing group member.
You could also find a therapist who is willing to run a group and do much of the work for youl.
Good luck
