Solution Focused Brief Therapy - how effective is it in treating adult ADHD?

So I'm 27 and have recently started going through increasingly difficult bouts with anxiety and depression which after a lot of reading up on I believe has something to do with undiagnosed/untreated childhood ADHD. I'm currently looking at my options as far as therapy goes and I came across a psychiatrist that practices 'Solution Focused Brief Therapy' which sounds like it is exactly what I need at the moment, and was wondering if anyone here has had either positive or negative results with this style of therapy as far as treatment for this kind of thing goes. I've never been to a therapist/psychiatrist before so any feedback at all would be greatly appreciated since I don't have insurance and would really rather not dump a lot of money into something that isn't as effective as other treatment options.

It works...........if

You and the therapist can agree on reasonable goals (meaning ones that you can accomplish in your current state). I meet with a therapist once a month to discuss goals (professional and personal) that I need to get done. I was heading down a very long hill in both my professional and personal lives, so I needed some help. We don't solve the "problems of my childhood." I tell her if I think the goals are overwhelming or "just right." I usually leave each month with a list of 6-8 items to cover; when I go the next month, I have at least addressed all of them even if only 4 of them are complete. I look at this as an essential part of my program, along with medication. My long term goal is to advance my professional life..........and I hadn't made any progress in that for over three years (when it was practically in ruin). It's baby steps, baby steps. The therapy is getting me there.....
