Private High School what is mandated by law for 504

My child is struggling in a private high school and has been diagnosised with ADHD and meeting the 504 plan. He loves the school and it has a low student population. Currently the school is taking steps to dismiss him. What can be done legally to remain at the school and what accomodations must the give him. He has difficulty turning in work on time but when turned in is at an A or B grade. He sits in back of classroom and is dimissed when he acts out. He has trouble taking test in given time and in the classroom. They will allow him extra time but in a library with other students walking around. We are working on medication levels. What is left for us to do before it is too late.

Private High School

Here is a link to IDEA and accomodations, focusing on private schools. They are not under the same obligations that public schools are, so I am not sure they are required to make accomodations for each individual child, nor are under an obligation to allow your child to stay enrolled. That is the "cloud of gloom" answer. However, please check out the attachment below--it will give you more specific information, as well as additional links that can address your question more specifically. (And you may find my "cloud of gloom" actually has a silver lining...) Hope this works out well for your son! http://www2.ed.gov/admins/lead/speced/privateschools/idea.pdf
