Any ADDers that are actors out there?
I've posted here many times before and have loved the advice/feedback I've gotten. I'm 23, working part-time and trying to go back to school. I have been acting since I was very young. It's my passion, my dream job, my form of self-expression, everything! I decided to be "practical" and go back to school for law. Don't get me wrong, I have many diverse interests, the law and agri-business reform/health care and nutrition being one of them. But as a last ditch effort I decided to think about auditioning for acting schools, as a safety net. Well, I was so busy with law school applications, that I didn't bother to realize that most of the MFA program deadlines were close to the law school ones. I'd missed all of them except for one. In true ADD fashion I procrastinated learning 2 monologues, and now it is crunch time and I still don't know one of them. How the heck do ADD actors with poor memory recall like me memorize big chunks of dialogue so quickly?
Also, how do ADD actors handle being ADD, trying to find a day job that's suitable and still try to make strides in their acting career?
