2nd Dose of Vyvanse?

After some trial and error, my son is on 10mg of Vyvanse...I have to mix the 20mg pill with 4 oz of water, then give him just 2 oz. This works WONDERFULLY for him...gives him just the right amount of control, but he's still himself. He had a discipline free week at school his first week at this dose for the first time EVER! Anyway, the problem I am having is that it wears off much more quickly than the full 20mg, which sucks for nights when he has wrestling practice or church...especially since when it wears off he's even wilder than normal. I decided to try giving him the rest when he comes home from school since he has no sleep side-effects (thank goodness!) and it worked wonders! He had a great evening and practice, when to bed just fine, and even woke up in a great mood the next morning! HOWEVER, I then read the Vyvanse instructions and they say not to use the remainder for later when you mix it with water...but my question is WHY? It works for him...I would like to do this every weekday if possible, but I'd like to find out why you're not supposed to use the rest later. I put it in the fridge the day we tried it... Anyway, if anybody has advice I'd appreciate it!

2nd Dose of Vyvanse

Vyvanse is a 12 hour med. Whatever dose is given should last for 12 hours. They don't want you to use a 2nd dose because it could cause problems with sleep especially if taken later in the day.. I would talk with your Dr.
