ADD w/ comorbid Bipolar disorder--Tasks for pleaure and tasks for mastery and getting the latter done

I have mastered bipolar disorder which up until recently was harsh for 3 straight years during which I stopped doing many habits which I once did. And with the bipolar out of the way I am quite aware of my distractability. If I task is pleasurable or entertaining then I have no problem attending to it. However, when it comes to things which are more a matter of mastery such as housecleaning, approaching strangers for radio news interviews, certain aspects of self-care, grocery shopping and other such things which are necessary to accomplish yet I don't necessarily enjoy, I find myself getting caught up in pleasurable activities instead. I do have a pocket pc with which to take notes, schedule tasks and such and have done so but am usually distracted by pleasure-seeking thoughts and behavior. And if I'm not doing something pleasurable I feel somewhat distressed. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to what thoughts and actions would help get the various things I need to do for mastery done?
