iphone apps for add/adhd
when i was considering switching from blackberry to an iphone, someone commented that it would change my life. melodramatic n all but it did to a degree.
apps that come with the iphone,
if i get lost or turned around while i'm driving, i can click on the maps and gps will show me where i wandered off and how to get anywhere from my current location. this function even has a walking and public transportation feature. gps is also great for not having to be stuck in traffic. before i go anywhere (i live in los angeles) i click my gps iphone feature and check traffic, then map out my route so i can check different routes. nothing worse than being stuck in traffic with adhd, i mean it would be a good excuse, if you weren't already 20minutes late.. :D
alarm
i have used the alarm to remind me to listen for a phone call, stop/start another task
because the alarm has a note section which pops up with alarm, i can add "must get up early to get the worm" or what task i am supposed to do next, this has been useful except those times where i walk away from phone or don't read the note ect,.
calendar
add appt, birthdays, bills, and due dates with two reminders plus notes
camera
keeps us busy and love taking pictures
but also good for taking pictures of items that i am interested in so i don't feel like i have to purchase immediately or i'll forget, that way i have the picture and can think about it and be less impulsive.
messages
you can text for days and it shows your history, so when someone texts you , you are reminded what you had been discussing a week or so prior.
apps i picked up that help
idea pad
simple place to keep ideas and description
gratitude journal
mood tracking and journal with photo upload per day. plus it gives you a quote each time you use it.
quote of the day
whenever i crave a mind pick me up
to do lists
i still haven't found one that works for me
but there are alot of great ones
bank apps
pay bills on my cell whenever wherever !
the first app i bought for $2 was
the koi pond
it's so cute and kinda relaxing
oh one that i almost forgot but has had the most direct use for adhd
mindwave a bilateral sound app that allows you to listen to various waves to help you either
relax, headache relief, sleep, creativity, coffee?, adhd focus, learning ect
listening to these sounds waves really do work ,
there are a few that do little for me but just the handful that do alot are worth the iphone price alone.
there are plenty more, there are also fun apps like games and noises and social apps but i'm more interested in productivity and photography apps as you might have noticed.
strongly suggest for adhd management.
i liked my blackberry and found email use was easier to use on it then the iphone's email and text functions but
everything else makes up for this one weakness in the iphone.
oh and one more thing, buttons and colors.. what i like about the iphone's interface is that it is colorful and uplifting
you can also choose the apps that look good and work well.
