Studying
I was undiagnosed in college and had a great deal of difficulty studying. Once I was on proper medications, I learned that I also had anxiety and memory problems. This helped greatly toward developing better study strategies.
It's important for him to learn about his ADHD and what strategies work best for him -not all strategies work equally for each individual with ADHD. He could try studying in the library where are other students are quietly studying, then try studying in a cafe where there is more background noise. One type of place might work much better than another. Also, he needs to become aware of when he works best. I found that I like to move around in the morning, but it's not a good time for me to study.
Eating a good breakfast with protein is also very helpful for me. Making an effort to talk to his teachers and ask questions is always a good idea regardless of whether or not he mentions his ADHD. Deciding to sit in one of the front rows in class reduced my daydreaming.
Also, I found "The Disorganized Mind" by Nancy Rately to be very helpful.
