Newly diagnosed/question about Vyvanse
I'm 22 years old and I have been clinically bipolar since I was 14 years old. I went the route when I was older of thinking that maybe somehow I could control my emotions with my own determination and finding other ways of coping with my feelings rather than popping and pill, and let me just say that that way just didn't work out AT ALL. I've been seeing a medicinal psychologist since I was around 14 or so(seeing someone new since my previous doctor is now out of practice), and after trying countless medications, for about two years I am now on 3 anti psychotic medications that I can say have blessed my sanity. I also take Lunesta for sleeping.
Recently, my doctor asked me if I had ever talked about ADD/ADHD? She prescribed be Vyvanse, and it has worked wonders so far. I've had some trouble falling asleep at night and have no appetite, and I've also noticed an elevated pulse. Sometimes I feel like I can climb Mount Everest because I have so much "calm energy" and I'm getting so much further ahead in my classes, and I'm also in a GREAT mood at work. I'm cleaning a lot haha, but I feel like I'm finally able to constructively get rid of some of the stress or frustration I've been feeling about paying attention in class, being on time anywhere, and I also used to daydream ALL THE TIME. So this medication has been a god send but I'm hoping I can get some sleep tonight.
Anyone have elevated pulse? I usually take this medication before work which is around 6:30-7am, so I thought I would be coming down before bed, but I still have problems.
