Vyvanse and Blood Pressure
I wrote a few weeks ago about switching from Concerta to a new medication. When I went in to my doctor, he noticed that my blood pressure had hit a dangerous range and I had to start medication for that. I am 25 years old and feel like I am way too young for this, but he thinks it is likely due to the fact that ADD meds are mostly amphetamines. Now that my blood pressure is under control, yesterday my doctor prescribed Vyvanse to try. Since I was on 54 mg Concerta, he started me at 50 mg of Vyvanse. I took it this morning and can certainly feel the positive effects. Does anyone know if Vyvanse has the same effect on blood pressure? Also, I started working out again after I found out about the BP and I am using a heart rate monitor... and I notice that my heart rate spikes very quickly and my resting pulse rate is also high. Is this because of the medication? Is there any way to counteract this effect naturally without BP medication? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated! |

Stress Management
It sounds like it could be stress causing your blood pressure to spike. Never underestimate the strain that stress can put on the body. If it is affecting your blood pressure then you need to learn how to manage stress. I use exercise to manage stress. Some people use meditation, yoga, etc. Sometimes managing stress is as easy as remembering to breathe . . .
