Hey Becky, My daughter is angry defiant just 13 year old who doesn’t like to get up in the morning and go to school. She stays up way too late and is uncooperative in the morning. Most days she gets up and goes, but will be about 10 minutes late. She is starting a pattern here where she is missing 1 day a week, and even 1 day can set her way back in the classroom. Short of turning off all the electricity in the house I don’t know what to do. We have taken everything away short of stripping her room of doors, and her other things I am at a loss. She has alawys been defiant, but in the past year it has gotten worse. This behavior is only seen at home, at school (when she is there) she is well behaved. I would involve the school district but then they would label her a truant and I am afraid that socal services would get involved. It seems whenever we praise her for something positive she does, she get angry and tells us to leave her alone. Today she turns 13, and she is still asleep in her bed, I have been going in there since 7:30 this morning and it’s 8:45…I love this little girl but unless we can get this under control I fear for the outcome of her future. We’ve tried to get her to a therapist and have taken most of her privileges away, positive reinforcement doesn’t seem to work either. My heart aches for her and I don’t know what to do, any advice? amom4998
