ADHD grandchild and joint (split) custody
My grandson is 8 and has ADHD. My daughter has always been the children's main caretaker (he has a 5 year old brother), but now that she has separated from her husband, he seems to think he is father of the year. He wants joint custody (believe me, his motive is to get around paying child support; he hasn't given her anything in 5 months and not much before that (they separated in November of last year). He has a history of being irresponsible and is living off of unemployment. Do you think a judge would be able to see that a child with ADHD needs routine and stability and that joint custody (at least in this case) would not give him that?
