Liver Damage

My family doctor who prescribed Ritalin for me after I described my ADD symptoms about a year ago is now backing off my medication because my liver enzymes are high. Has anyone else experienced high liver enzymes or liver damage due to Ritalin? I was taking 20 milligrams now I'm down to 10 and my symptoms are returning somewhat --however it's more important that I take care of my liver--The warning and side effects don't say anything about liver damage. Re: Liver Damage

I read something about Strattera causing alterations in liver function, but was unaware about Ritalin. Back to the PDR...

all med is detoxed through the liver or kidneys

so it probably the liver for these drugs. with this said there is so much that raise your liver enzymes the most obvious is alcohol but a diet in fatty foods can raise your enzymes as high if you drank every day. watch super size it and this person in a few months liver damage was significant enough that he was told to cut out all the McDonalds and Burger king fast foods . so before you think it just this medication look at your diet and amke changes . THe liver is wonderful organ and it heals itself quickly when taken care of.
