Anybody Else with ADHD Feel This?

I'm currently off the meds, but it been a couple of years that I noticed that I'm at my best state of mind when:

A) I just woke up B) I stay awake for more than 24 hours

The effects of just waking up lasts for about half an hour though, and the effects of staying awake are amazing but sometimes the sleepiness kicks in. What are those effects I'm talking about? Well, the ability to actually concentrate in what I'm doing and do a darn good job.

You are talking the ability to hyper focus

In the moment of hyperfocusing tremendous work get done, we forget to eat and sleep. It not so unusal for many of us who are ADD/ADHD . After so may hours of no sleep , the chemical things that happen change the way we perceive our enviroment ; and the waking time at least for me is the most difficult because I don't sleep well. The rush of hyperfocus is the cause of the fell good feeling. And yes it occurs to me at least

I am the same

Hello. When I read your message I thought to myself "Hmm - that sounds so familiar". At the moment I am 'Inbetween employment posts', and I wake up early every day - between 5am and 6am - even if I went to bed at about midnight/1am. Take this morning. I woke up at 05:36 - fed my cats had a shower and I'm sitting here at my laptop writing this reply. I am awake - I am alert - and I am buzzing with the plans I have for the day ahead of me. There are occasions in the evening I am very tired, but after about an hour that tiredness goes and I am fully awake again and am on the computer at 3am doing whatever it is I am doing. On one occasion I didn't sleep for about 3 days and 2 nights because I was just so high. I would like to point out that I am not on any AD/HD medication as my previous dr. told me my symptoms &c. don't warrant it. Have you seen your dr. about this? Did you come of your medication at his suggestion or because you wanted too? Maybe you should consider going back to see them or another physician if you do not like/trust the one you have at present. With blessings. Charlotte.

I can relate

I am at my best the further laong I am into my day. The problem is falling asleep. I try to avoid a nap, but siesta time hits me about the same time every day (mid-afternoon). I have always been a night owl.
