What Do People Ask You About ADHD?

I am writing a booklet meant to help people without ADHD understand those in their lives who do have ADHD. The first section of the book is meant to explain ADHD in simple terms, and to clear up any misconceptions about it. SO I was wondering, what kinds of questions have people asked you about ADHD?

Describe ADD

ADD is like having two brains... yours and a two year old child. Your brain knows what it needs to do. The two year old child has no clue about life. He is exploring all day everyday. He is constanly on the go. Even the ad on the right is driving me nuts as I write this reply. He doesn't know rules. He doesn't know sit still. He is two. So you have to occupy and control the two year old to get anything done. Some times it works and sometimes it doesn't. And this is when the two year is in a good mood. The more you have to do... the more out of control the two year old gets. By then end of the day your exhausted because you have not only had to do your activities. But you had to control your inner two year old... the one that never grows up... doesn't understand no... and never stops exploring.

What do people ask?

The main thing is "how do you get anything done the way you go about doing things"?

Also, "Why did you do it that way???"

Other common comments/questions:

"Don't get so frustrated" (When I make "frustrated" noises or comments) "Be quiet and listen to me for once" (During arguments) "Why are you turning red and getting all flustered?" (I have social phobia too) " Here, let me do it" (as they impatiently take over what you're trying to do) "Why are you so forgetful"? "How do you find anything in this place"? "why did you put there" ?? "Just slow down for a minute" "You made another mistake...."

It's very frustrating to be around "perfectionists" or people who don't believe, or understand, ADD.
