Son's Sleep Disorder and ADD

My son was suspected with ADD at age 4, he is 8 now. He has been on Ritalin since age 6 1/2 but still has issues. He has had 2 sleep studies with a diagnosis of PLMD, but his pediatrician refuses to think this has anything to do with his behavior. All I know is when he sleeps, he is the best kid in the world, on Ritalin or not. Can anyone give me some advice on how to get this child correctly diagnosed. His pediatrician said to see a psychologist.
