Difference Between ADD and ADHD

Can someone explain in simple terms the difference between ADD and ADHD? Is ADHD a form of ADD with a hyperactivty component?

ADD and ADHD

ADD and ADHD are often used interchangeably. ADHD is the official medical term for Attention Deficit with and without hyperactivity. ADD Without Hyperactivity is also known as ADD Inattentive Type. ADD with hyperactivity is called ADHD. This article explains ADD and ADHD in more detail.
