No treatment of ADHD: result PRD as comorbidity

Hey guys out there, I've got a question and I hope you can help me!?! I have read on the internet that people who 'suffer' from ADHD and receive no treatment are more likely to develop a PRD (Paraphilia-Related-Disorder) according to Kafka and Hennen (1999). So it would be great if you could add some of your personal experiences or comments on that, in order to share them with the community. I know that it seems that I am very much into sex according to the treads and comments in this forum but I think the present ADHD literature lacks in information about that. So I hope some brave people in here can post some very usefull information. I would really appreciate that! So enjoy your day and keep on posting! ;-)

Ah, shrink becomes a verb.

I think that if a patient has an untreated mental illness or disorder, they're more likely to be messed up in any way you can imagine. It's called self-medicating. The inappropriate use of substances, food, or in this instance, sex. Digging out all the specifics and giving them a DSM-appropriate names (ie, comorbid PRD) separates the issue from the bottom line: Whether it's depression, BPD, or AD(H)D, an untreated patient will find ways to self-soothe, often to a destructive end.
