Am I Having Withdrawl Symptoms?

This is so bad. I posted the question about Ritalin being prescribed for adult ADD . Well, Ive been off the Adderall now for about 3 days, (80mg pr day for about 2 yrs) and started the Ritalin (no noticeable hike in motivation at all), (20mg) but yesterday all i did was sleep, that's not like me and today, I've been so sad, and crying off and on, I mean really sobbing, what the heck is going on? I can't reach my Dr, because its Sunday and now I'm scared to death. I feel like I felt when I had the baby blues. Any advice?

I think you are but it is normal

I think you need to calm yourself down, this is normal because this is the first time you used this medicine so your body is trying to adopt from the changes.

I have had withdrawl symptoms....

I can only speak for myself. I was on adderall 10mgs twice a day for 2 years. The meds worked great until the last 3 months. I had insomnia and just didn't feel right. My NP took me off and in addition told me that you need to take a break from adderall every couple of months. That being said, I slept for an entire week. I was depressed, exhausted but the worst thing was that I felt brain dead. I continued to feel this way months after being off the adderall. I didn't replace it with another adhd med. I haven't made the decision to go back on because of pressure from family and friends, but the just do not know what it is like to wake up in the morning and not want to get out of bed. Not because you are depressed, but because there is no stimulation. Like in a fog. I have suffered from severe depression so I do know the difference. I am going back on the adderall and I am keeping it myself. The best way I can explain it is that the meds may be out of your system, but your brain remembers the feelings. I hope this helps.....
