Spring Cleaning Tips?

I'm taking about 3-4 days next week to do some serious spring cleaning. This is an incredibly intimidating task, but I'm determined to actually complete it. I've found a few checklists I'll use to make sure that I remember everything, but I need more structure than just the lists. I need to make sure that I keep to what I need to do and don't get distracted or wimp out 1/2 way through.

Honestly, it's only a small 3br home that's only a few years old. We don't have kids and don't have a ton of clutter or anything. We do have dog hair though, and an 80lb puppy that will be in the way, stealing things as we go along.

Any great words of advice? Thank you so much!

Spring Cleaning Tips

Take half a day to give your big puppy a thorough brushing and long walk. Tired puppies are happy puppies and with his favorite chew item might just let you get some cleaning done. I have a 90 pound puppy and it works for me.

Buddy up with a friend or a pro

It's always more fun to do a task with someone else. See if you can buddy up with a friend and work on your house together--and maybe do her house as a joint effort, too. Even consider hiring a cleaning service to come in for a one-time cleaning. You can be there and even help as the pros work on your house. It's amazing to see how someone who cleans houses for a living gets the job done efficiently. Learn from the masters!

Start Small

One problem that I know I have is taking on too much at once, and getting distracted by little things. I'll start cleaning the bedroom, find something from the living room, and then wander in there and begin cleaning there, instead.

So pick a room, and grab a couple plastic bins. Start cleaning that room. Anything that does not belong in that room, goes in a plastic bin. If you want, you can separate out one bin for bathroom, one bin for living room, but it is simpler to just have a single bin. Once the room is done, walk around the house with the bin, putting everything back where they belong, then tackle the next room.

Spring Cleaning Tip

I have two big dogs and one is very high energy, first I always walk her and then I have a buster block that I fill for her and she is occupied for hours if I keep filling it and I use her dry food and so she doesnot get a lot of calories. Also a kong, make sure to freeze and it will take them hours to get through it. Hope this helps.
