Need Examples of Computer Necessry for State Exams
hi, I'm Trish. my 18 yr.old son has been refused the use of a computer when doing his state exams in June. The state only allows the use of a computer for writing if you are dyslexic and does not recognize ADD as a legitimate reason to use a computer. I have an appeal on the 8th. of May and desperately need some evidence to show his need is valid. My son finds it difficult to articulate how he functions, but he says he cannot "see"/comprehend what he has written in a coherent fashion when he reads back his handwriting and it all becomes difficult to comprehend or organize unless he sees what he has written on a computer screen, where it all becomes manageable and clear. Hope this makes sense ! The State only recognizes Dyslexia, Blindness - what they call physical disability. I need the appropriate medical language to make my case. I feel my sons disability is physical but their definitions are too restricted so I need to make a concrete case for him using the computer and would be so grateful if any parent can help me. Thank you. Trish.
