Absorption of Adderall?

I have just recently been diagnosed with ADHD @ the age of 24. My dr. started me on 20mg of Adderall XR, which worked okay, but seemed to wear off quickly and I found myself dragging by the end of the day. When I told him about this he upped my dosage to 30mg, which didn't make the medication last any longer. However, throughout the corse of my treatment, some days I will feel the medication and it will last all day, and other days I won't be able to tell that I've taken it. I have determined that for some reason my body must not be absorbing it effectively on those days. I don't take it with juice or vitamin c. I was wondering if anyone knew of other things that cause it not to work well, or if there is something that will help it to absorb better and more consistantly. Thanks!

Absorption of Adderall

Try taking either a 10 or 15 mg XR in the early morning and then 10 mg XR a few hours later

Never self-medicate with Adderall

Doing a trial and error adjustment without your doctor's supervision is a really bad idea. While you might not be trying to get just the right effect for yourself or your loved one, always remember that Adderall is an amphetamine salt-based drug that alters the way your brain works with the dopamine and norepenephrine levels in your brain. Overdosing can cause tremors, confusion, and panic attacks. There could be other diet factors that are inhibiting the performance of Adderall or AdderallXR, but it's just plain foolish, and could be downright dangerous to experiment on yourself. Work with your physician on this one.

Asorbtion of Adderall

I am 33 and had the same problem. My doctor has me on Adderral XR 25 and I was feeling at certain times I felt it wasn't working. He had me take Dextroamphetamine(shorter time) 10MG tabs and I take up to 3 times a day as needed. I started on a lower dosage of Adderral and the Dextroamphetamine and adjusted as needed. Make sure to ask your doctor. Also, I believe, there are 2 manufactures of Dextroamphetamine - the only one that works for me is the manufactur BARR. If I take the other manufacture I feel NO effect of the medication.

Alabama Drug Treatment Centers

Without treatment, your chances of a full recovery are not very good. Your best approach to treating your addiction in the Denver area is to check yourself into one of the many excellent centers for substance abuse treatment in Denver, Colorado.

Amphetarestore together with Adderall

Try a supplement called Amphetarestore and take it together with your Adderall. It is a detoxifying agent and it will lower your dependency from your medications thus you will feel the effect of Adderall even on low dosages. Try it. It helped me a lot.

Hope this helps.

Trail and Error

I read in this thread the negative consequences of unsupervised trail and error dosing. Performing trial and error with dosing on your own is no different than when a doctor issues you a medication prescription. The doctor does not know exactly how much of a narcotic stimulant you need; he or she just guesses until the correct doasge is finally reached. The guessing game continues on with the type of medication. Thousands of people admit to having the wrong meds in theri ADHD treatment regimen.

ADHD stimulant medications will never efficiently work until a physical test is given to ascertain the level of neurotransmitter deficiency. Clinicians prescribe powerful drugs on the basis of surveys and checklists. How ludicrous!

The push for personalized medicine is sorely lacking in any health care reform debate. The obstacles to personalized medicine are special interest who porift off "guessing."

Amphetarestore...

I also have heard good reviews about amphetarestore, especially in ADHD cases. It is said that this supplement lessen the dependency to any kind of stimulant drugs. My sister he uses this drug for his son who has ADHD and I can really see the difference that it made to my nephew. Try searching for this product yourself this might help you...
