Clonidine to Stop Tics and Help ADHD

My son picks at his skin until it bleeds. He has band aids all over his fingers and arms. His psychiatrist recommended Clonidine. Does anyone have any experience using it this way instead of for help sleeping?

Clonidine

Hello Bradysmom:

A few users have shared their experiences with Clonidine in the past. You might check out the comments section in this Expert Q&A about tics.

This article about ADHD sleep problems also mentions clonidine as a remedy for ADD children who have trouble falling asleep. Another great ADDitude article about ADHD medications for children mentions clonidine as an alternative for children who can't tolerate stimulants.

I hope this helps!
