If your son is doing great in school and seems to love it, consider him very fortunate. If I were in your position, I would keep things as they are because they seem to be working for your son. An IEP gives you more legal rights if you need them in the future. I have just discovered the book Wrights Law from Emotions to Advocacy, 2nd ed. and would recommend it to every parent who has a child with special challenges.
