How to Educate Peers About ADHD

I have been approached by my daughter’s teacher and her aid wanting to know if it is okay to discuss openly with her peers about her unique gifts. My daughter has ADHD, anxiety disorder, been on and off the Autism spectrum and who knows what is yet to come out. She is in 2nd grade. Any opinion on this? Also I have been told a good tool to help with this is to design a brochure introducing my daughter to people. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Talking About ADHD

This is an issue that many parents of ADHD struggle with. As a matter of fact, ADDitude.com has a whole section devoted to talking about ADHD.

Your child's friends and peers certainly play a big role in her socialization process. Check out our list of articles about ADHD children and friendships for input from experts.

Kay Marner, our parenting ADHD children blogger may also have some advice, no doubt she has dealt with such situations with her ADHD daughter.

Best of Luck, Dena
