IEP Meeting
Hello and Happy New Year:
I'm no expert on ADHD accommodations, but my understanding is that 504 Plans don't come with as many legal requirements as do IEPs. If you can secure an IEP, you're better off in the long run because the school is legally obligated to stick to it. Not that there's any excuse for your daughter's school dismissing her existing accommodations - it's disappointing, very frustrating, and just plain wrong.
As a starting point, I would suggest downloading ADDitude's free report about securing classroom accommodations for children with ADHD.
I would also recommend reading through these articles for advice on working with the school on an IEP...
ADHD and Learning Disabilities: Educational Rights and Accommodations
Educational Rights for ADHD Children
12 Steps to Better IEP Meetings
How to Draft an IEP
Sample Letter to Request Accommodations for ADHD Students
I hope this helps!
