Nutrition and ADHD
Does anyone know of cookbooks that deal with ADHD? I often refer to the Diadetic Cookbooks but I was wandering if there were any out there specifically for ADHD? |

ADHD and Diet
Hello there: I haven't run across any ADHD-specific cookbooks either, but I would recommend checking out Healthy Mother, Healthy Child, which is a book about nutrition, exercise and yoga for ADHD kids and their moms. ADDitude also has a collection of articles all about how nutrition impacts ADHD that might help. Best of luck! |

Nutrition and ADHD
I just bought a book that seems to be very interesting. It is called "The ADD and ADHD Cure" (A Complete Nutritional and Lifestyle Program) The Natural Way to Treat Hyperactivity and Refocus your Child. The authors are Jay Gordon, M.D. with Jennifer Chang. It does have recipes. Hope it helps. Ale |

Nutrition and ADHD
Its so wonderful that your thinking ahead about nutrition ! I've come across more and more studies that reflect mal-nourishment can cause mental disorders & diseases. I know many may think, if its that easy why are disease and disorders so rampant ? Well, thats simple, our foods do not contain the right nutrients or enough of the right nutrients. One nutrient that is hard to absorb through foods is B12. And apprantley, B12 deficiency is now linked to mental illnesses. The lack of B12 appears to decrease levels of substance needed to transmit nerve signals. Thank God a team of scientist discovered this, I hope it will one day lead to a vaccination against ADD and other debilitating conditions. I recently posted an article about B12 and ADHD: I also have more articles on holistic healing http://www.ideamarketers.com/?The_ADHD/B-12_connectiona_closer_look&articleid=688924&from=PROFILE Thank u! |

LOOKING FOR A GROCERY LIST
Has anyone come across a comprehensive list of foods (name, brand) that are lower in preservatives. for example: brand a cereal does not have high fructose corn syrup but brand b does. I know the Feingold book has this I believe if you join the association but I just want a good comprehinsive list that would help make better choices for my ADHD daughter. I have done much research on the internet and have yet to find a good list. Can anybody steer me in the right direction |

Breakfast
I've tried various supplements and foods but haven't found any that make a significant difference. The most significant diet improvement I made was to eat a good breakfast containing protein each morning. I have also read recent articles suggesting that reducing sugar is helpful with memory but the studies I read were small and preliminary. |
